At the Cradle

At the Cradle is one of the Lyric Pieces composed for solo piano by Edvard Grieg. This one is in his book IX Opus 68, published in 1899.

Solo and tutti sections. May also be played with one player per part, although you will lose some of the dynamic contrasts.

My arrangement for recorder orchestra is based on Grieg’s original composition for piano. Gentle and tranquil melodic lines, combined with rich harmonies, make this piece very appealing. High and low recorders share the melody.
